Booking a speaker you have not worked with before comes with real questions. What do you actually need to provide? What happens if the room setup is unusual? Is this going to require a lot of back and forth to get right? Here is a straightforward answer to all of it, based on how I actually work with event planners, HR and L&D leads, and bureau partners.

Choosing a format

I offer three formats, and part of an initial conversation is simply figuring out which one fits your event. Against the Odds is the signature keynote, 45 to 60 minutes, built for a general session where the whole room hears the same story. The Pillars of Resilience is an interactive workshop, closer to 60 minutes, designed for a smaller, more engaged group who will do real work in the room, not just listen. The 80/20 Mindset is a shorter, focused seminar for a breakout or a leadership offsite where you want a specific, actionable idea rather than a full story arc. None of these are rigid. I adapt length and depth to your agenda.

What I need from you

The earlier we connect, the more room we have to get details right, but the honest answer is that speakers get booked on all kinds of timelines, and I work with what is realistic for your event. What actually matters most is a short planning call to cover audience size, the goals for the session, and any theme your event already has, so the message lands as something built for your room rather than a generic talk. Beyond that, the technical needs are simple: a wireless lavalier or headset microphone, a screen if slides are part of your format, and a minimum 10 by 10 foot clear stage area. I adapt to theater seating, classroom setup, or banquet rounds without any special requirements on your end.

What the day of the event looks like

I like a quiet 30 minutes before I go on stage, but it is a preference, not a requirement, and I have worked plenty of events where that was not possible. During the talk itself, my job is to read the room and adjust delivery in real time, which is part of why I ask about your audience ahead of time rather than running a fixed script. If your event includes a resource table near the exit, my book, My Story God's Glory, is available for attendees who want something to take home and revisit after the event ends.

After the event

With permission included in the standard agreement, I record engagements for my own archive and future marketing use, and I am always glad to share a copy with you as well. Many hosts also ask about a short debrief afterward, particularly for workshop formats where you want to know how the room responded and what came out of the exercises. I am happy to provide that.

Fees

Fees vary by format, travel, and event type, generally in the range of $5,500 to $10,000 or more depending on scope. I am glad to give you a specific quote once I understand your event, rather than asking you to work backward from a generic number that may not reflect what you actually need.

If you are still deciding whether this is the right fit for your event, the fastest way to find out is a short call. Reach out and tell me about your audience and your date, and we will figure out the rest together.
